T Prasad Rao Dora, president FISHCOPFED-India and FISHFED-Odisha, has been elected as vice-chairman of the International Fisheries Cooperative Federation.
Dora got elected to the global body at the Global Conference and General Assembly Conference which was conducted by International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) at Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday, a FISHFED-Odisha release said today.
Expressing happiness over his election, Dora said "It is a great honour. I will work sincerely for the development of fisheries activities in the cooperative sector across the world."
Dora is the first president of the National Fisheries Cooperative Federation to become the vice-chairman of the International Fisheries Cooperative Federation, it said.
The International Fisheries Cooperative Federation is dedicated to the development of fisheries cooperatives around the world.
