Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch its SUV Jimny in India after the success of its Vitara Brezza. The Maruti Suzuki Jimny has already been launched in Japan and has undergone the global NCAP safety test getting 3 stars.

If reports are to be believed, Maruti Suzuki has planned to launch the Jimny in India during the Auto Expo 2019. However, the automaker is yet to make an official announcement to clear the rumours.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny is a compact SUV. The model launched in Japan is four-seater. However, it is speculated that the Indian model will be a five-seater car.

Maruti Suzuki Jimny was launched in Japan in two variants - Jimny and Jimny Sierra. While there Jimny has been priced between Rs 9.06 lakh to Rs 11.85 lakh, the Jimny Sierra prices start Rs 10.94 lakh and goes up to Rs 12.82 lakh. However, the Indian variants price may be around Rs 8 lakh.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny features
Maruti Suzuki Jimny's Indian model is expected to have 1.2 litre petrol engine and three doors. The interior looks like the upgraded version of Gypsy. The SUV is fitted with modern infotainment systems.
Maruti Suzuki Jimny Performance
To make it manoeuvre through any terrain, the Maruti Suzuki has equipped Jimny with a robust ladder frame, three ample body angles, 3-link rigid axle suspensions with coil springs and 4WD with a low-range transfer gear. The company claims that 'there are places in the world only the Jimny can go'.
