Maruti Suzuki leads, but Tata Motors sales skyrocket; check out numbers in brief

Maruti Suzuki posted 14.4% jump in total sales to 1,72,986 units in April against 1,51,215 units in the year-ago month - domestic sales 1,64,978 units, up 14.2% from 1,44,492 units in April last year.

Tata Motors domestic sales growth jumped 86% in the month of April. Its domestic sales of commercial vehicles grew by 126% to 36,276 units compared to 16,017 units in the year-ago period. Passenger vehicle (PV) sales stood at 17,235 units last month as compared to 12,827 units in April 2017, up 34%.

Mahindra & Mahindra total sales grew 22% at 48,097 units in April, as against 39,417 units for the same month last year.

Hyundai Motor reported 6% increase in total sales at 59,744 units in April 2018. The company had sold 56,368 units in April last year.

Volvo Group and Eicher Motors JV named VE Commercial Vehicles, reported 28.1% increase in sales in April this year to 3,959 units.
