7th pay commission: This group of state employees stage protest citing pay anomaly, other demands
Although Jammu and Kashmir became the first time to implement the 7th Pay Commission for its employees, nursing staff in a government medical college and its associated hospitals in Jammu today observed an hour-long token strike, staging a protest in support of their long pending demands, including removal of pay anomalies. The nursing staff went on an-hour long strike at 11 am, assembling at the lawns of the government-run Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh hospital at Shalamar to stage a peaceful protest.
Jammu Kashmir government earlier announced to have given orders to implement the 7th Pay Commission recommendations, thereby, enhancing the salary of the state employees by over 20%. Image source: PTI
