Indian shares closed little changed on Tuesday as investors were cautious ahead of US Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen's speech later this week at the gathering of central bankers in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, for further cues on US interest rates.
The benchmark BSE Sensex ended 0.02% higher at 27,990.21.
The broader National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty closed up 0.04% at 8,632.60.
Meanwhile, the shares of Idea Cellular closed up 6.72% or Rs 6.35 at Rs 100.80 on the BSE after the news of Vodafone India in an exploratory talks around a possible merger with Idea Cellular broke during the closing of the market hours.
