7th Pay Commission latest news today: The Central government employees as well as their state colleagues have gone through a roller-coaster rise over the last 10 days or so. The reason? There have been a number of announcements that have hit the 7th Pay Commission linked salaries space. Among the good news is that employees are anticipating a positive development in terms of hikes in their dearness allowance (DA) from 4 to 5 percent. If it happens as per their expectations, the increase of 4 percent will boost their salaries from Rs 720 to Rs 10,000 per month, depending on rank. As such, past few days have witnessed several developments in the 7th Pay Commission and here we highlight top 5:

1. Currently, central government employees get the DA at 12 per cent, and the latest increase, if takes place, it would add 4 per cent thereby making it 16 per cent. This enhancement would increase the salary of lower level officials by Rs 720 per month, while the highest level officials at pay level 18 will see a hike of Rs 10,000 per month. Notably, the 7th Pay Commission has enhanced the basic salary of Level 1 official at Rs 18,000 per month, while salary of pay Level 18 officials is set at Rs 2.50 lakh per month. 

Harishankar Tiwari, Assistant Secretary General of All India Audit and Accounts Association, who has the privilege of calculating Dearness Allowance at AG Office Brotherhood, told Zee Business online that as soon as the data of All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI) comes for June, things would be obvious as to what percentage of DA will be provided to the central staff, taking 7th pay commission into consideration. 2. 7th Pay Commission: Medical professionals in Madhya Pradesh as well as other parts in the country have raised their demands for implementation of the 7th Pay Commission recommendations, and their stir is spreading. Junior Doctors' Association (JDA) of Indore has recently extended support to the agitating teachers demanding implementation of the 7th Pay Commission recommendations in the state. According to the recent Haryana government orders, the state employees posted in various cities and towns will get revised HRA, and those working cities with more than 50 lakh population would be covered in the X category and get 24% or minimum Rs 5,400 in the form of HRA. Those in cities with less than 5 lakh to 50 lakh population would be covered in the Y category and get 16% or minimum Rs 3,600 as HRA, while the Z category cities, with less than 5 lakh population, will extend 8% or minimum rent allowance of Rs 1,800 to staff working there. 7th Pay Commission: According to sources, the Centre is working to evolve a new system for 68 lakh central staff and 52 lakh pensioners, under which, it may not revise their salaries, but would act according to the two new formulas, 'Automatic Pay Regimen' system and 'Aykroyd' Formula. Under Automatic Pay Regimen, salaries will be revised if DA is more than 50 percent, while the Aykroyd formula will combine inflation and employees' performances to revise their salary. Under the 7th Pay Commission recommended pay scale, the Central government's Ministry of Home Affairs Directorate General, SSB has invited applicants for 150 Non-Gazetted and Non-Ministerial posts of constables. Candidates will be offered pay of Rs 217000-69100 respectively. Candidates applying for these posts, under 7th Pay Commission pay package, should know that the last date is 11 August 2019 (Except for Remote Areas) and for Remote Areas, it is 18th August 2019.
