Avengers: Endgame Box Office Collection sets new record, mints Rs 157 crore in opening weekend
Avengers: Endgame Box Office Collection: The much-hyped Hollywood movie, which marks the end of over a decade of storytelling in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has broken record for the highest opening weekend for a Hollywood film in India, minting Rs 157.20 crore in merely three days, according to a PTI report. Released in India last week, the film earned Rs 53.10 crore on day one, Rs 51.40 crore on day two and Rs 52.70 crore on the third day (nett box office figures), said the report, citing figures provided by studios.
"The massive response by audiences across the country is a testimony of how emotionally invested the Marvel fans are in the Avengers franchise. "They have eagerly awaited to watch the culmination of the journey of 11 years and their extraordinary love for the Marvel characters is clearly evident," Bikram Duggal, Head - Studio Entertainment, Disney India, said in a statement quoted by PTI. Calling the box office numbers of the film record breaking, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "Avengers Endgame writes H-I-S-T-O-R-Y... Has a record-breaking, Blockbuster weekend... Notably, as many as 15 Hollywood actors form the starcast of the movie including Chris Evans, Brie Larson, Robert Downey Junior, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Holland, Jeremy Renner, Josh Brolin, Paul Rudd, Karen Gillan, Sebastian Stan, Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper, Tom Hiddleston, Benedict Cumberbatch, Gwyneth Paltrow, Danai Gurira, Evangeline Lilly, Don Cheadle, Katherine Langford, Jon Favreau, Vin Diesel, Anthony Mackie, Ty Simpkins, Michelle Pfeiffer, Benedict Wong, Tilda Swinton, Akihiro Haga and Carrie Coon. Released in Hindi, English, Tamil and Telugu, the film has reportedly broken the advance booking records.
