Awesome! Indian Railways' Kalka-Shimla Rail gets first see-through Vistadome Coach; check amazing photos
The Indian Railways has been improving passenger amenities. It had rolled out see-through Vistadome coach last year between Visakhapatnam and Araku Valley. Now, the Railways has rolled out another Vistadome Coach for trial on the Kalka - Shimla Rail. Check out amazing photos:
Kalka - Shimla Rail Vistadome coach
The Kalka - Shimla Rail Vistadome coach has completed its trial. "The Kalka - Shimla Rail, equipped with a Vistadome Coach, ran its first trial trip today. Passengers can now soak in the aesthetic landscape with better vision through the glass top ceiling of the newly converted coach," said Railways Minister Piyush Goyal in a tweet.
Vistadome Coach: Amazing Features
The Vistadome Coach boasts an amazing glass roof, which has electrically controlled opalescence! Yes, you read that right! That is, it can be made transparent or opaque at the turn of a switch.
Vistadome Coach: 306-dgree Seats
Passengers wanting a better view can head for a special observation deck. All seats are rotatable by 360-degree and are pushback chairs. However, the seats of this Kalka-Shimla Rail Vistadome coach is not rotatable.
Kalka-Shimla Rail: Specially-designed Vistadome Coach
The Vistadome coach given for Kalka-Shimla Rail has been modified as per the suitability. The normal Vistadome coaches are fitted with automatic sliding compartment doors, multiple TV screens and wider bodyside door.
Vistadome Coach: Mumbai-Goa Route
The Ministry of Railways had commissioned the second Vistadome Coach (in pic), funded by the Ministry of Tourism, on the Jan Shatabdi Express plying on the scenic Mumbai-Goa Route, to provide a panoramic view of the picturesque Western Ghats.
