Narendra Modi Mission Shakti HIGHLIGHTS: Indian anti-satellite missile shoots down live satellite in low earth orbit

Narendra Modi Mission Shakti HIGHLIGHTS: In a proud moment for India, PM Narendra Modi in his address to the nation announced today that the country can now shoot down live satellites. Achieved under Mission Shakti, India destroyed a low-earth orbiting satellite some 300 km away in the sky with this missile. Achieving this anti-satellite capability makes India the 4th such country across the globe after US, Russia, China to register this amazing feat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi speech highlighted this achievement minutes after chairing a National Security Council meet where NSA Ajit Doval and Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale too were present. According to PM Narendar Modi it took just 3 minutes to destroy the low-earth orbiting satellite.
