Sikkim's first airport at Pakyong: PM Narendra Modi clicks stunning pictures on his way to the state; check photos
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Sikkim to inaugurate the state's lone airport today. The prime minister has reached Gangtok in an MI-8 chopper from Bagdogra and was received by Governor Ganga Prasad, Chief Minister Pawan Chamling and others at Libing Army Helipad. During the two-day visit, Modi would inaugurate the Pakyong greenfield airport, around 33 km from Gangtok on Monday.

Sikkim's Pakyong Airport Inauguration
Pakyong Airport: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Sikkim to inaugurate the state's lone airport today.
Airport at a height of 4,500 ft
Perched between the Himalayan ranges at a height of 4,500 ft, the Pakyong greenfield airport is beautifully adorned.
The New Greenfield Airport terminal building at (Pakyong) is an excellent architectural structure of 3200 sqm having the capacity to fit 5 Lakhs passenger per Annum, said the AAI.
Pakyong Airport is decked up with sustainability features like Rainwater Harvesting, LED lighting, & re-usage of treated water.
