Stock Markets Today: BSE Sensex, NSE Nifty end week in red; Eicher Motors, Tata Motors among losers

The stock markets today ended the day in the red. Both the BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 were down by over 1 per cent from the previous close on Thursday. While the Sensex ended the day’s trade at 37,877.34, down by over 433 points, the broader market NSE Nifty 50 was trading 11,178.40, down by 122 points at the time of closing

In the 30 share BSE Sensex, only 5 stocks were trading in the green at the end of the day’s trade while the remaining were trading in the red. The top gainers on Friday in the early trade were Sun Pharmaceuticals, NTPC, Tata Steel, Titan and Infosys while the top losers were Mahindra and Mahindra, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finance, SBI and ITC. Pic Credit: PTI

Australian S&P/ASX 200 futures were down 0.05 per cent, while Japan`s Nikkei 225 futures were up 0.06 per cent after the Nikkei 225 index closed up 1.78 per cent at 23,249.61 on Thursday. The futures contract is down 0.11 per cent from that close. Hong Kong`s Hang Seng index futures were down 0.13 per cent.
