Markets start trading session on positive note; Sensex jumps by 200 points, Nifty around 15700

BSE Sensex opened 202.26 or 0.39 per cent higher at 52143.90, while Nifty50 up by 56.70 points or 0.36 per cent to 15692.10.
While other Important indices such as Nifty Bank opened 103.10 points or 0.30 per cent higher to 34903.60 and Mid-cap Index outperforming the benchmarks jumped 208.10 points or 0.78 per cent to 27055.90.
Power Grid becomes the top gainer at open on Thursday to surge by around two and a half per cent, followed by NTPC surging by over one per cent in the early trade. Power stocks have been on a rally since Wednesday as the Index hits 3-, even in yesterday’s five power stocks hit a new 52-week high.
In the top five index gainers list, Reliance Industries, HCL Tech and IndusInd Bank each soared around one per cent early trade on Thursday.
Except for FMCG, all other sectoral indices are in the green minutes after the market opens on Thursday. Nifty Metal and Nifty Realty each surged most than its sectoral peers with over one per cent.
In the early trade, 37 scrips are advancing and 13 declining out 50 on the Nifty50 list on Thursday.
The US closed with losses on Wednesday, as Dow Jones falls 150 points while Nasdaq closes flat. On the other hand, the Asian Markets were trading muted. Foreign Institutional Investors sold shares worth Rs 846.37 crore in cash, and Rs 271.7 crore in index futures on Wednesday.
The Nifty on Wednesday had a volatile session as the index broke the trend of gains with sharp bouts of volatility. Banks led the fall along with auto and metals as the market saw huge volumes in the derivative segment. Mid-caps which have been the stars of this rally also saw profit booking.
