The Indian markets on Tuesday closed on a positive note, with Nifty finishing today’s session at a record-high closing.
The Indian markets on Tuesday closed on a positive note, with Nifty finishing today’s session at a record-high closing. The rally was led by IT stocks and IndusInd Bank. Similarly, Midcap outperformance keeps market breadth in favour of advances.
The BSE Sensex grew by over 69 points or 0.12 per cent to 58,247, while Nifty50 gained near 25 points or 0.14 per cent to 17,380 levels. While the mid-cap index outperformed the benchmarks to surged almost 400 points or 1.35 per cent to touch a new high of 29871.65 levels at the close today.

Aiding the market today, Nifty Bank helped the Nifty Index to end positive, as it closed by over 0.4 per cent or 141 points higher to 36613 levels, led by IndusInd Bank.
Out of 50 scrips on Nifty50, 32 advanced, 17 declined and Coal India remained unchanged at the market close on Tuesday. Perhaps, on the back of the government’s relief package to the telecom sector, IndusInd Bank, which has exposure to Vodafone Idea surged most by near 4 per cent today.
While other stocks such as HCL Tech and Hero MotoCorp each jumped over 2 per cent at the market close on Tuesday, followed by Adani Ports, Tata Motors, Bajaj Auto and L&T each up 1.5 per cent.
On the contrary, UltraTech Cement, HDFC, BPCL, Nestle India declined most by over 1 per cent each at the market close, followed by Tata Steel, HUL and Bajaj twins by over 0.5 per cent today.
Almost all sectoral indices ended in the green except for Nifty Financial Services, FMCG and Metal. Nifty Media surged most by 14 per cent taking the broader markets to new high. While Auto, IT and bank stocks helped the market most to end on a positive note at the market close on Tuesday.
