They have been waiting for a huge number of their salary-related issues to be sorted out for quite some time now. Among these is the announcement of a Dearness Allowance (DA) hike. The DA announcement for H2-2019 has been hanging for last two months. Few decisions like monetary benefits to Army Ordnance Corp employees, bonuses for Indian Railways employees, Salary boost for central employees etc also need to be looked into. Here are the other recent developments related to 7th Pay Commission (7th CPC) benefits:
7th Pay Commission: Monetary benefits to Army employees
The central government has decided to provide monetary benefits to Army Ordnance Corp employees as per the 7th CPC recommendations. These Defence Civilians of Army Ordnance Corps (AOC) staff will get 40 days Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) for the year 2018-19, and it will be paid to all eligible Group B Non Gazetted officers and Group C civilian employees of AOC with the ceiling of Rs 7000 (7000 x 40/30.4). Notably, the productivity linked bonus will also be paid to casual labourer at the assumed wages of Rs 1200 per month (1200 x 40/30.4), according to media reports. Reuters
7th Pay Commission: Rs 5,300 per month for non-ministerial staff
The central government order says that a non-ministerial staff of Group A and Group B, excluding nurses and doctors, will get HPCA or Hospital Patient Care Allowance and PCA or Patient Care Allowance. However, it has been underlined that those employees who are on leave for more than a month will not be eligible for this allowance. The 7th Pay Commission Matrix Level 8 and above will get HPCA/PCA of Rs 4,100 per month. Employees of Level 9 and above would get HPCA/PCA of Rs 5,300 per month.
7th Pay Commission: Pension hiked
The Central Government has given a big relief to Ex-servicemen. The Central Government has decided to revise pension of the Ex-servicemen who retired before 2006. After revision, the Ex-servicemen will get pension under the 7th pay commission report recommendations and this revised pension for the Ex-servicemen would be applicable from 1st January 2016. The Central Government's decision to revise pension of the Ex-servicemen, who retired before 2006, will be beneficial for those government employees in the armed forces whose monthly salary was below Rs 17,000.
7th pay Commission: Salary boost for central employees
Experts say that this cabinet decision would extend benefit to about 1.1 crore central employees and pensioners who come under the 7th pay commission system. The maximum increase in Dearness Allowance is expected to be 5 per cent. If the increase is 5 per cent, the salary of an employee under the 7th CPC pay scale will increase from Rs 900 to Rs 12500 per month.
7th Pay Commission: Bonus for Indian Railways employees
Indian Railways is likely to declare bonus for its non-gazetted employees before the festive season. Railways employees get Rs 17,951 as a 78-day bonus, which would be part of the Railway Employees' Productivity Link emolument. These employees were given the same amount in bonus last year as well. However, Railways has not made any announcement in this regard.
