With an aim to provide relief to the central government employees who are going to retire, the central government has decided to provide a 'DigiLocker' facility to them. The decision will enable central government pensioners to place their PPO (Pension Payment Order) in this digital locker to avoid any kind of problem of misplacement. The Department of Pension & Pensioners' Welfare has validated an e-copy of the PPO, in case the original copy of the PPO is not available. After much buzz on the periodic performance review of the central government employees, the Government finally took a decision in this regard on 28th August 2020. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued an Office Memorandum on periodic Review of Central Government Employees for strengthening of administration under Fundamental Rule (FR) 560)1(l) and Rule 48 of CCS (Pension) Rules, 1972.
