Just four days left! Here is how to link Aadhaar card with PAN card

Earlier, income tax returns were e-filed without linking Aadhaar and PAN till August 5, 2017, and the deadline to link both the cards was initially extended from 31st August 2017 to 31st December 2017, and again to 31st March 2018. For online linking of Aadhaar number and PAN, you should first login to the income tax e-filing portal, and register yourself if you are not already registered. Image source: PTI

Now, you should login to the e-Filing portal of the Income Tax Department by entering your login ID, password and date of birth.  Image source: Reuters

After logging in to the e-filing portal, a pop up window will open showing you to link your PAN card with Aadhaar card. If you are not able to see this pop up, just click the blue tab on the top bar ‘Profile Settings’ and click on ‘Link Aadhaar’. Image source: Pixabay

Since your details related to name, date of birth and gender were submitted during the registration on the e-Filing portal, you need to verify these details with the details mentioned on your Aadhaar card. Image source: Reuters

If the details do not match, you should enter your Aadhaar number and captcha code and click on the “Link now” button. A pop-up message will show informing that your Aadhaar number has successfully been linked to your PAN card. Image source:  Pixabay
