These four Indian startups have been shortlisted for seed funding
Among the winter batch 2019, Y Combinator shortlisted four Indian start up companies which includes Mudrex Inc, MyScoot, Skill-Iync and Trexo Robotics.
It is said that the best businesses begin with an idea. But an idea cannot reap fruits until it is watered and nurtured with funds and investments. Y Combinator is one such American startup accelerator that aims to give a boost to emerging start-ups. Y Combinator provides the seed funding, which pays the expenses while the startup is in its initial phase. The firm also introduces to later stage investors or even acquirers.
Twice a year, Y Combinator invests a small amount in a number of startups. These occur in two batches, the winter batch (January-March) and the summer batch (June-August).
Among the winter batch 2019, Y Combinator shortlisted four Indian start up companies which includes Mudrex Inc, MyScoot, Skill-Iync and Trexo Robotics.
Mudrex Inc.
This Bengaluru-based block-chain startup that enables traders to write their trading logic. It uses a flow-chart inspired tool, historical or live data to analyse their trading rules, and utilize their live strategies on multiple exchanges to automatically trade.
Providing the service at zero expense, anyone can get started with automated trading using Mudrex.
The firm was co-founded by Rohit Goyal, Edul Patel, Prince Arora, Alankar Saxena, and Snehil Buxy in 2018.
MyScoot
Do you have trouble socializing through networking sites? Do you prefer the old methods of mingling and knowing new individuals? A start-up , MyScoot, a Gurugram based start up is an event marketplace for meeting new people at house parties. How does this work? Well, people can join the platform where they can host house parties, earn money for dinner parties or discover events around them.
The server has a 5-step verification to ensure a safe environment and to process vet users.
My-Scoot was the brain-child of Somvir Yadav, Suyash Sinha, and Sidharth Rawat.
Skill-Lync
Skill-Lync is an online platform that offers online courses for mechanical engineering students at the rate of $250 or around Rs 20,000 per course and claims that students can get a better job after just four courses. The start-up is based in Chennai and was an initiative by Suryanarayanan Paneerselvam, who aims to teach the students skills which are not taught to them in college but are pre-requisite skill to accelerate their careers.
Skill-Lync in an edtech startup that will soon launch a masters course in hybrid electric vehicle design and analysis, which guarantees a full refund if the students does not get a placement thereafter.
Trexo Robotics
Manmeet Maggu founded Trexo Robotics, in the year 2016, that builds wearable robots that help children with cerebral palsy to walk. Manmeet came up with this idea after his nephew was diagnosed with it and it was the need of an hour to come up with the start up. He started the company aiming to help people stand by themselves, especially children.
Ontorio based Trexo's products are limited to home use and aids children to walk. Today, the firm has helped over 65 families in and around North America.
