Some of these updates can be experienced in the WhatsApp Beta version. All these updates are expected to come to your smartphone in 2019 as December is set to end soon.
1. New WhatsApp 'status' 2019: QR Codes

New WhatsApp 'status' 2019: Consecutive Voice Messages
The new feature will allow automatic queuing of voice messages to WhatsApp. This feature has been spotted on WhatsApp beta for iOS (v 2.18.100). It is also present in the code of Android Beta version (v 2.18.362).
