Soybean prices softened by Rs 16 to Rs 2,798 per quintal in futures trading today on cutting down of positions by the participants amid falling price overseas.
Marketmen said a subdued trend overseas and weakness in edible oil prices at the domestic markets, mainly kept pressure on soybean prices at futures trade here.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, soybean delivery for November month contract slipped by Rs 16 or 0.57 per cent to Rs 2,798 per quintal, with an open interest of 83,020 lots.
Soybean for most-active delivery in December month lost Rs 15 or 0.52 per cent to Rs 2,850 per quintal, in an open interest of 93,030 lots.
