WoodenStreet launches new store in Surat as part of expansion
With the new launch, the company strengthens its existing pool of experience stores in the state and broadens the brand’s pan-Indian reach even further.
Taking queues from the 'Vocal for Local' initiative, homegrown furniture firm WoodenStreet has as a part of its expansion spree set foot in Surat. The e-commerce furniture brand has plans to infuse more than Rs 165 crore to increase its physical footprint across the country. It has currently 85 stores operational.
Lokendra Ranawat, CEO, WoodenStreet, said that the aim is to make 300 stores operational in the next two years in tier II and III towns. He said that with the goal of strengthening niche markets and omni-channel presence across the country, the new store in Surat which covers a carpet area of 3000 sq. ft. showcases a substantial assortment of home furniture and decor products comprising personalized options.
“People will get a chance to visit and experience luxury furniture with seamless shopping advantage. Therefore, focusing on enhancing the stores and providing on-trend products remaincontinuous," Lokendra said.

Established in 2015, the Udaipur-based company recently secured $30 million in Series-B funding, with Westbridge capital leading the investment round.
The new stores will come up in metropolitan cities and also in tier-II and tier-III cities, WoodenStreet said, adding that the investment will help generate over 3,000 job opportunities. Last year, the company launched one of its largest warehouses in Bengaluru, with an area of 2.5 lakh square feet.
