Relief for airlines as jet fuel price cut by 4%
ATF price is revised on the 1st of every month based on the average rate of international benchmark and foreign exchange rates.
Aviation turbine fuel (ATF) price has been slashed by Rs 4,606.50 per kilolitre or 4.09 per cent to Rs 1,07,750.27 in Delhi on Wednesday. In Kolkata, it will cost Rs 1,15,091.33 per kl while in Mumbai and Chennai, it will cost Rs 1,06,695.61 and Rs 1,12,497.99, respectively.
Today's reduction in ATF price is followed by an increase in the price on February 1.
The rate cut will decrease the burden on airlines for whom fuel makes for almost 40 per cent of the operating cost.

Meanwhile, cooking gas LPG price has been hiked by Rs 50 per cylinder. The non-subsidised LPG price will now cost Rs 1,103 per 14.2-kg cylinder - the first increase since July 2022.
