BSE Sensex, NSE Nifty fall on Monday after strong show last Thursday
After a good show on Thursday, the markets today took a U-turn, opening in red. Both BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty today opened down by over 4 per cent. While the BSE Sensex opened lower by over 1432 points at around 32,284.86 points the NSE Nifty in the opening trade was down by over 407 points at 9,452.85. The Markets were closed on Friday on account of International Workers' Day.
At 9:20 am, barring, Sun Pharmaceuticals, all the other stocks on the 30-share Sensex were in red. The top losers in opening trade on Monday were tech Mahindra, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finance, Tata Steel and Indusind Bank.
Meanwhile, at 9:20 top performers on Nifty in Monday trade were Sun Pharmaceuticals and Cipla. Top losers on Nifty-50 were the opening trade were Vedanta Limited, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Indusind Bank and JSW Steel.

The rupee was trading at Rs 75.8150 when the markets reopened on Monday. On Thursday the rupee ended at 75.2625.
