Stock market alert! Sensex, Nifty to remain closed on Monday and Thursday next week
The stock market traders and brokers will have two days extra break, as the trading on the BSE and NSE will remain shut on August 12 (Monday) and August 15 (Thursday), 2019, due to Bakra Eid and Independence day.
The stock market traders and brokers will have two days extra break, as the trading on the BSE and NSE will remain shut on August 12 (Monday) and August 15 (Thursday), 2019, due to Bakra Eid and Independence day. This means the markets will remain closed for three days at a stretch from Saturday to Monday and then again on Thursday. However, after August 15, there will be no other holidays in the current month. There will be holiday for Ganesh Chaturthi on September 2 and holiday for Muharram on September 10, 2019, according to information available on BSE India website.
The share market will now open on Tuesday, after a three days' break. However, there will be three market holidays in October - Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, Dussehra on October 8 and Diwali on October 28, 2019.

In November and December, there will be one market holiday in each month - Gurunanak Jayanti on November 12 and Christmas on December 25,2019. One can check the market holiday list on the BSE website. After this three days break, the fresh positions will be opened on Tuesday.
Today, the stock market extended gains for the second consecutive day after the robust Chinese data. The BSE Sensex jumped 254 points to close at 37,581 level while the 50-stock Nifty rose 77 points to 11,109. The Bank Nifty index too rose 321 points to close at 28,431.
Indiabulls Housing Finance, Eicher Motor, Titan, Maruti Suzuki, and Bajaj Finance were the top Nifty gainers, while YES Bank, Cipla, Tech Mahindra, Hindalco, Coal India, and Bajaj Finance were the losers in the Nifty 50 index.
