Yes, Indian movie buzz is increasingly grabbing Chinese film audience's attention. Reacting to this trend is Taran Adarsh, Film Critic and Business analyst, who revealed that seven films in have crossed the mark of $ 15 million in China. Right from Aamir Khan to Irrfan Khan, there have been various movies from a number of superstars in Bollywood that have done wonders at the China B.O. Here is the list of movies that managed to cross this mark so far:
2015: PK
Aamir Khan's PK hit this mark in 2015 at the China B.O. The movie was based on a man from different planer, who finds himself stuck on Earth. Sanjay Dutt, Anushka Sharma and Sushant Singh Rajput were also there in the movie.
2017: Dangal
Aamir Khan's Dangal crossed $100 million in China, and was the only Bollywood film in 2017 to cross $15 million in China. The fim was based on the biopic of Geeta Phogat and Babita Phogat, two lady wrestling champions of India.
2018: Secret Superstar
Aamir Khan's Secret Superstar crossed $100 million in China and was among four films in 2018 to do so. The movie was based on a young ambitious girl, dreams of becoming a singer, but faces opposition from her father.
2018: Hindi Medium
Irrfan Khan's Hindi Medium was the second movie to cross this mark in China in 2018. Husband wife yearn to get their daughter, educated from a reputed school. When they learn that their background is holding her back, they are willing to go to any lengths to change her fate.
2018: Bajrangi Bhaijaan
Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan was the third movie to cross hit figure in China in 2018. Salman Khan (Pavan), a devoted follower of Lord Hanuman, faces numerous challenges when he tries to reunite Munni with her family in Pakistan after she gets lost while travelling back home with her mother.
2018: Hichki
Rani Mukherjee's Hichki also reached this mark and become the fourth movie of 2018 to do so. The story depicts about a woman with Tourette syndrome, who lands a teaching job in an elite school, she turns her weakness into her biggest strength.
2019: AndhaDhun
Ayushman Khurana's AndhaDhun managed to earn this much in China in 2019 and is the latest in that list. The movie was based on a a piano player pretending to be visually-impaired, unwittingly becomes entangled in a number of problems as he witnesses the murder of a former film actor.
